Finch went into the midweek match (16th) on the back of two straight wins and full of confidence as they looked to make it three against Holyport Reserves.

Everything was going to plan when Aqeel Butt continued his excellent form, scoring his third goal in four games.
That was followed by a well‑taken finish from Ibrahim Zahead to make it 2–0 and put Finch firmly in control.

However, goals either side of half‑time dragged Holyport back into the contest.
Finch kept knocking at the door, creating chance after chance, but the breakthrough just wouldn’t come… until the 91st minute.

Up stepped our very own Sports Club barman, Ethan Simons, who smashed home a dramatic late winner.

That victory puts Finch joint‑top after four games, level with Yateley United — who they face this weekend in what promises to be a huge early‑season clash.
