A fantastic 2–0 away win for the Ladies’ First Team was the highlight of the weekend.
An early strike from Eshe Davies, followed by last season’s top scorer Ruby Huggins finding the net early in the second half, was enough to secure all three points.
Manager Dave Senior praised the performance, saying it was “an outstanding display across the entire squad,” with special mention for Player of the Match Hannah Bennett — “Hannah gave us a great platform to build from with excellent handling and distribution throughout the game.”
Elsewhere, the Ladies’ Reserves were narrowly beaten 1–0 away at Burghfield. Despite challenging pitch conditions, the team gave everything but it just wasn’t to be on the day.
Earlier, the Finch Masters suffered late heartbreak, conceding an 88th‑minute winner to lose 3–2 against Reading Community Trust. Goals came from Giles Edwards and Mark Baker.
On Saturday, the Men’s First Team went down 3–2 to Wargrave FC. After finding themselves 3–0 behind with ten minutes to play, they rallied with goals from Conner Gonzalez and Aqeel Butt, but couldn’t quite find the equaliser.
